Bindl was not designed in a vacuum. Our platform emerged from extensive field research, including the Haven House and Ottumwa studies, and co-design sessions with caseworkers, MCOs, and over 100 individuals who have experienced homelessness.
We heard from shelter staff, case managers, and service providers. They described fragmented records, chicken-scratch notepads, and hours lost to paperwork. They explained the stress of having no reliable handle on where clients are or what progress has been made, and a fear that if they took time off, their clients would not have a clear path to proceed without their ongoing help. They asked for tools that fit how shelters actually operate.
